This year, I asked for just one thing for my birthday – “Come help us work on the house!” What a great birthday! We were able to accomplish a lot! Everyone helped set the floor trusses (boy were they heavy!), frame walls and windows, nail up OSB sheeting, etc. Thanks to my parents, Don and Ellie; my brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Martha; and my brother Jess.

Of course there had to be a little showing off going on too. Jess is the fearless one who can walk around on the roof trusses 10 feet up like it’s solid ground, and Matt is the gymnast who has to do handstands in every new place he comes across. Check out the handstand on the corner of the house walls. I caught him when he was on the way down to avoid “getting in trouble” by Martha and Mom!

We’re very excited about the new place, and can’t wait to get all settled in!
